Welcome Massage Students!

CWMTC Courses: Massage Trainining Class Modules
Wyoming Massage Therapist Training: 
Learn Professional Bodywork Skills from experts in the field with decades of experience.
The following are a list of classes available at CWMTC.  Classes are held as one day modules.
Introduction To Massage Therapy*                       4 hrs
Swedish Massage I                                              8 hrs
Swedish Massage II                                             8 hrs
Swedish Massage III                                            8 hrs
Asian Massage I                                                   8 hrs
Asian Massage II                                                  8 hrs
Asian Massage III                                                 8 hrs
Medical Massage I                                                8 hrs
Medical Massage II                                               8 hrs
Medical Massage III                                              8 hrs
Student Massage Clinic                                         20 hrs
* Students without any prior massage training are required to take Introduction To Massage Therapy prior to beginning any other massage class module.
Classes are held on Saturdays throughout the year with ongoing enrollment.
Evening classes during the week are available upon request and upon demand.
Class sizes are limited to a maximum of eight students and a minimum of two per module.
Tuition is $25 per class hour.
Each eight hour class module is $200.
Payable to the instructor at the time of the class by cash or check.

A certificate of course completion will be provided to student that complete all three modules in any one massage discipline and complete the full 20 hrs of required supervised student massage clinic.

*Preparatory reading and study will be required prior to attending each class module.  Details provided upon registration.

Course Descriptions

Introduction To Massage  
This four hour course is designed to introduce people to the world of massage that have no or limited prior professional massage experience. An overview of various massage styles will be presented.  Other topics include exploring the different clinical settings and career opportunities that are available for Wyoming massage therapists.  Students will be directed to on-line resources and additional skills and knowledge development opportunities availabel on-line that will enhance the practical hands-on skills training provided by the CWMTC classes.

Swedish Massage I, II, III
Each Swedish Massage class module is eight hours (for a total of 24 hrs of in class hand-on skills training) and will start with basic Swedish massage protocol.  At the end of all three modules of classes the student will be able to perform a professional full body Swedish massage. Students will be required to complete homework between module classes including providing and documenting practice massages on friends and family.  The course will also cover various protocols that apply to spa vs. clinical environments, charting, contraindications, medical alerts, professional networking, draping, patients confidentiality, boundaries and professional ethics, massage promotion and other topics related to professional massage practice in Wyoming.

Asian Massage I, II, III
Asian Massage class module is eight hours (for a total of 24 hrs  of in class hands-on skills training) and will start with learning basic acupressure and energetic meridian theory and point location.  Students will be learn basic Shiatsu, Tuina and Chi Nei Tsang skills and will be able to perform a full body professional level Asian massage routine at the end of the three class modules. Students will be required to complete homework between module classes including providing and documenting practice massages on friends and family.  The course will also cover various protocols that apply to spa vs. clinical environments, charting, contraindications, medical alerts, professional networking, draping, patients confidentiality, boundaries and professional ethics, massage promotion and other topics related to professional massage practice in Wyoming.

Medical Massage I, II, III
Students are required to complete either Asian or Swedish Massage Modules I, II, III or have prior massage training and professional practice before taking the Medical Massage Module of classes. Each class is eight hours for a total of 24 hours of hands-on skil training in Medical Massage applications. Students will be required to complete homework between module classes including providing and documenting practice massages on friends, family or clients.  The course will also cover various protocols that apply clinical environments including chiropractic, acupuncture and physical therapy clinic settings. Injury specific massage protocols will be covered including trigger point therapy and neuromuscular therapy.
